Oktana has been recognized as a Top Performer in the FeaturedCustomers Spring 2026 Customer Success Report. Here’s what the ranking measures, and five signals every buyer should look for in a Salesforce partner’s customer references.
Choosing a Salesforce partner used to be mostly a question of technical capability. Could the firm configure the clouds you needed, build the integration and hit the go-live date?
Today the decision carries more weight. Enterprise Salesforce programs now combine custom development, MuleSoft integrations, Data Cloud and AI capabilities such as Agentforce, and the partner you choose will shape how those pieces work together for years after launch.
That is why customer references have become one of the most useful tools a buyer has. They show how a partner behaves when scope shifts, when something breaks in production, and when the internal team needs to take over.
This raises a practical question for any CTO or VP of Technology:
How can you tell, before signing, which partner will still be delivering value a year after go-live?
FeaturedCustomers’ Spring 2026 Customer Success Report offers one way to answer it, and we’re proud to share that Oktana has been named a Top Performer in its Enterprise Salesforce Consulting category.
About the Spring 2026 Customer Success Report
The report is built on more than 7,000 pieces of verified customer reference content. Of all the firms listed in the Enterprise Salesforce Consulting category, 34 met the minimum requirements to be evaluated. Oktana appears in the Top Performer group alongside firms such as Coastal Cloud, Credera, Diabsolut, Fluido, VRP Consulting and Zensar. You can read the full report here.
How the Ranking Works
Each vendor’s position is calculated as a weighted average of three scores:
| Score | What It Measures |
|---|---|
| Content Score | Volume and rating of customer references (case studies, success stories, testimonials and videos), year-over-year growth, and how often buyers view them |
| Market Presence Score | Social following, web traffic and search momentum, organic keyword rankings and press coverage |
| Company Score | Headcount, headcount growth over the past 12 months, Glassdoor ratings and venture funding |
Vendors are then grouped into three tiers. Market Leaders have the largest customer base and market share. Top Performers have significant market presence, enough reference content to validate their vision and strong ratings from their customers, while still growing toward the scale of a Market Leader relative to company size. Rising Stars are earlier in building momentum. Oktana’s profile in the report carries 65 customer references.
A Fair Word on Rankings
Buyers are right to approach any list with some skepticism, since reference-based rankings reward firms that invest in documenting their work and part of the score reflects visibility. The most valuable piece of a report like this is the references themselves. They are on the record, and they come from people who signed off on real projects.
So instead of leaning on the badge, we’ll use those references as a lens. Here are five signals worth looking for in any Salesforce partner’s references, along with what our own clients said.
1. Look for Scoping That Happens Before the Build
Many Salesforce projects that run over budget got into trouble in the first few weeks, when assumptions went unchallenged and scope was defined around a feature list instead of business outcomes.
A strong reference will describe a partner who asked hard questions early, clarified what success looked like and made sure both sides understood the work before the estimate was final.
What Our Clients Said
A platform manager at a global network company called Oktana “a wonderful partner from day 1,” pointing specifically to how our team helped them scope and understand the project from the very start.
Questions to Ask References
- How was scope defined before the estimate was agreed?
- How much did scope move once the project started, and why?
- Did the partner challenge any of your initial assumptions?
2. Check Whether Your Team Can Run It Without the Partner
A Salesforce org that only the partner understands becomes a long-term dependency. The best engagements leave internal admins and developers confident enough to maintain, extend and troubleshoot what was built.
In a reference conversation, look for evidence of:
- Documentation covering configuration, releases and integrations
- Hands-on knowledge transfer to admins and developers
- Clear ownership of each component after go-live
- Training that prepared business users to adopt the new processes
What Our Clients Said
The same platform manager noted that their team came out of the engagement with everything they needed to maintain the solution and keep it running on their own.
3. Look for Initiative Beyond the Statement of Work
Statements of work describe what a partner is obligated to deliver. References tell you what the partner chose to do when nobody asked, which is often a better predictor of how the relationship will feel over time.
What Our Clients Said
A product manager at a large consumer goods company described how our team proposed documenting releases and the way the company uses its Salesforce org, then took ownership of keeping that documentation current. As their business needs shifted, we adjusted the team to match.
Signals of a Proactive Partner
- Recommendations the partner raised outside the original scope
- Process improvements suggested before problems surfaced
- Resourcing that changed as business priorities shifted
- Regular, honest communication about risks and trade-offs
4. Weigh Longevity More Heavily Than Launch Day
Go-live is an important milestone, but most of the value of a Salesforce investment is realized in the months and years that follow. References from long-running relationships tell you whether a partner can keep a solution healthy as the business, the platform and the team all evolve.
What Our Clients Said
A director of engineering at a large high-tech company described a partnership in which Oktana built and continues to maintain a widely used tool with a passionate customer base, and credited that partnership with helping them scale it. A senior director at another leading high-tech company singled out the skill and loyalty of our developers.
Questions to Ask References
- How long have you worked with this partner?
- Has the core team stayed consistent over that time?
- How has the engagement evolved since the original launch?
5. For Agentforce Work, Ask About Data and Life After Launch
AI raises the stakes on every signal above. An Agentforce implementation depends on data that can be trusted, on guardrails that reflect how the business really operates, and on steady tuning once real customers and employees start interacting with the agent.
Before selecting a partner for Agentforce, ask their references:
- How did the partner assess data readiness before building agents?
- How were guardrails, permissions and escalation paths defined?
- What testing happened before the agent reached customers or employees?
- Who monitors and tunes the agent after launch?
The qualities behind the first four signals matter even more here. A partner who scopes honestly will surface data gaps early, a partner who transfers knowledge leaves your team able to adjust agent behavior, and a partner who stays engaged can support the agent through its first months in production, when most of the learning happens.
A Salesforce Partner Reference Checklist
The five signals can be summarized in a simple checklist to use during any partner evaluation:
| Signal | What to Look For |
|---|---|
| 1. Scoping | Clear definition of scope, assumptions and success criteria before the estimate |
| 2. Independence | Documentation and knowledge transfer that let your team run the system |
| 3. Initiative | Recommendations and improvements beyond the original statement of work |
| 4. Longevity | Long-running relationships and a consistent core team |
| 5. AI readiness | Data assessment, agent testing and post-launch tuning for Agentforce |
The goal of a reference check is to predict what the partnership will feel like in its second year. These five signals get you much closer to that answer than any pitch deck will.
How Oktana Approaches Client Partnerships
Oktana is a Salesforce Summit Consulting Partner with nearshore delivery teams across Latin America, working with U.S. companies on Agentforce implementation, Data Cloud, MuleSoft and AI-driven transformation.
Across every engagement, we focus on helping teams:
- Define scope and success criteria before the build begins
- Document releases, configuration and integrations as part of the work
- Transfer knowledge so internal teams can own what we build
- Adapt resourcing as business priorities change
- Assess data readiness before implementing Agentforce
- Support solutions well beyond go-live
Recognition like this exists because clients take the time to share their experience on the record, and we’re grateful to every one of them who did.
If you’re evaluating partners for an Agentforce implementation or a broader Salesforce initiative, the best way to judge us is to ask the questions above.
